Publication and Service Fees

Publication and Service Fees

Argael Publisher Library operates as a digital deposit, scholarly publication catalogue, academic distribution platform, and knowledge repository. It does not apply a standard article processing charge because the platform is not administered as a conventional periodical journal.

Fees are determined according to the type of publication, the condition of the submitted manuscript, the scope of editorial and production services required, the selected access model, and the form of distribution requested by the author or institution.

Authors, editors, institutions, and prospective publishing partners are encouraged to contact the Argael Publisher administration directly to obtain a preliminary assessment, service recommendation, and transparent cost quotation.

1. Preliminary Consultation

Initial consultation concerning manuscript eligibility, publication category, digital deposit, catalogue inclusion, ISBN, DOI, book production, distribution, and sales arrangements may be conducted through the official WhatsApp contact displayed on this website or by email.

During the initial consultation, prospective authors should provide basic information concerning the proposed publication, including:

  • the title and subtitle of the work;
  • the names of the author, co-authors, or editors;
  • the type of publication;
  • the current condition of the manuscript;
  • the estimated or final number of pages;
  • the language of publication;
  • the availability of an ISBN or DOI;
  • the preferred publication, access, and distribution model;
  • the editorial, design, production, or promotional services required.

Following the initial review, Argael Publisher will provide a recommendation regarding the most appropriate publication process and the services required.

2. Types of Fees

Depending on the needs of each publication, the applicable fees may include one or more of the following components:

  • Digital deposit and catalogue preparation, including bibliographic data organisation, publication-page development, and digital listing in Argael Publisher Library.
  • Editorial assessment, including preliminary manuscript screening, structural evaluation, and recommendations for improvement.
  • Substantive or developmental editing, including the strengthening of manuscript structure, argumentation, coherence, chapter organisation, and academic presentation.
  • Language and copy editing, including grammar, spelling, terminology, readability, and editorial consistency.
  • Reference and citation checking, including the examination of in-text citations, bibliography, referencing style, and source consistency.
  • Similarity screening, where required, accompanied by an editorial interpretation of the similarity report.
  • Typesetting and book layout, including page design, heading hierarchy, tables, figures, front matter, and publication-ready formatting.
  • Cover design, including the preparation of front-cover, spine, and back-cover materials according to the agreed publication format.
  • ISBN consultation and publishing administration, subject to the relevant registration requirements and publication eligibility.
  • DOI consultation and registration for eligible books, monographs, chapters, proceedings, reports, or other digital publication objects.
  • Digital publication preparation, including PDF optimisation, preview-file preparation, metadata development, and access configuration.
  • Printing and physical production, where printed copies are requested.
  • Distribution and promotional services, including catalogue promotion, digital marketing, institutional offers, and sales support.
  • Institutional access or subscription arrangements, where a university, library, school, research institution, or organisation requests access to selected publications.

3. Cost Determination

No single fixed fee applies to all manuscripts. The final cost is calculated on the basis of the actual work required for each publication.

The quotation may be influenced by:

  • the length and complexity of the manuscript;
  • the quality and completeness of the submitted file;
  • the extent of editorial revision required;
  • the number and complexity of tables, figures, photographs, and illustrations;
  • the language of the publication;
  • the requested production schedule;
  • the need for ISBN, DOI, metadata, layout, design, printing, or distribution services;
  • the number of printed copies requested;
  • the selected access and sales model;
  • institutional or collaborative publishing requirements.

For this reason, authors are requested to submit their publication information and available files before asking for a final price.

4. Transparent Quotation

Argael Publisher is committed to maintaining a transparent and accountable service process. Before any paid work begins, the author or institutional partner will receive information concerning:

  • the proposed scope of work;
  • the services to be provided;
  • the estimated completion period;
  • the total or staged cost;
  • the payment schedule;
  • the expected publication output;
  • the responsibilities of the author and publisher;
  • the revision and approval procedure.

No author is required to proceed before the scope of service and the applicable costs have been understood and approved.

5. Payment Procedure

Payment terms will be determined according to the nature and scale of the publishing service. Depending on the agreement, payment may be made in full, by deposit, or in agreed stages corresponding to editorial, production, registration, printing, or distribution milestones.

All payment instructions should be confirmed directly through the official Argael Publisher communication channel. Authors should not transfer funds to an unverified account or third party claiming to represent Argael Publisher.

6. ISBN and DOI Fees

The existence of an ISBN or DOI does not automatically mean that a publication is academically approved, indexed by an external database, or accepted for deposit in Argael Publisher Library.

ISBN and DOI services are subject to:

  • publication eligibility;
  • editorial approval;
  • metadata completeness;
  • publisher policy;
  • the requirements of the relevant registration authority;
  • the completion of any necessary publishing or licensing documents.

Any administrative, editorial, metadata, or registration-related cost will be explained in the quotation provided to the author.

7. Digital Deposit and Catalogue Listing

A publication accepted for digital deposit may receive a dedicated catalogue or landing page containing its bibliographic identity, author information, synopsis, keywords, table of contents, ISBN, DOI where available, cover image, citation format, preview pages, and access or purchasing information.

The cost of catalogue development may vary depending on the completeness of the submitted metadata, the number of publication elements, the need for editorial preparation, and the access model selected.

8. Sales and Revenue-Sharing Collaboration

Authors whose books or digital publications are approved for sale through Argael Publisher Library may enter into a separate commercial collaboration with Argael Publisher.

The author’s share and the publisher’s share will not be determined unilaterally. The applicable profit or revenue-sharing margin will be discussed transparently and confirmed through a written agreement before commercial distribution begins.

The calculation may take into account:

  • the selling price;
  • editorial and production costs;
  • printing and packaging costs;
  • payment-gateway or banking charges;
  • platform and administrative costs;
  • taxes, discounts, and refunds;
  • promotional and distribution costs;
  • the intellectual-property arrangement;
  • the respective responsibilities of the author and publisher.

Authors may request a detailed explanation regarding the sales model, revenue calculation, reporting period, and payment schedule before entering into the agreement.

9. Institutional and Collaborative Publishing

Universities, libraries, research institutions, schools, professional associations, government agencies, and academic communities may request customised publishing, deposit, distribution, or subscription arrangements.

Institutional quotations may cover:

  • the publication of multiple books or monographs;
  • conference-proceedings management;
  • institutional digital repositories or special collections;
  • bulk printing and procurement;
  • licensed access for students, lecturers, or library users;
  • long-term editorial and publishing collaboration.

Each institutional proposal will be evaluated according to its scope, duration, production requirements, access model, and expected deliverables.

10. Refunds and Cancellation

Refund and cancellation conditions depend on the stage of work already completed. Editorial, design, registration, metadata, printing, and production activities that have already been performed may not be fully refundable.

Any refund, revision, suspension, or cancellation arrangement should therefore be governed by the written quotation, invoice, or publishing agreement accepted by both parties.
