Author Guidelines
Author Guidelines for Argael Publisher Library
Argael Publisher Library is a digital deposit, scholarly publication catalogue, and distribution platform managed by Argael Publisher. The platform enables authors, editors, researchers, lecturers, institutions, and professional organisations to register, document, promote, and distribute eligible books and academic publications through a structured and traceable digital catalogue.
Argael Publisher Library does not operate as a conventional periodical journal. Authors are therefore not required to submit their works through a journal-style article submission workflow. Authors who wish to have their books or scholarly publications listed, deposited, promoted, distributed, or offered for sale through Argael Publisher Library should contact the Argael Publisher administration directly.
1. Types of Publications Accepted
Argael Publisher Library may consider the following publication categories:
- scholarly books;
- research monographs;
- textbooks and teaching materials;
- reference books and handbooks;
- edited books and collected volumes;
- conference proceedings;
- research and institutional reports;
- community-engagement publications;
- academic translations;
- professional and intellectual works with demonstrable educational, scientific, cultural, or societal value.
Publications may be submitted in Indonesian, English, Mandarin Chinese, or another language subject to editorial capacity and prior agreement with Argael Publisher.
2. Registration and Initial Enquiry
Authors who wish to register or deposit a publication in Argael Publisher Library should contact the administrator through the official WhatsApp facility displayed on this website or by email at:
Email: argaabdi@gmail.com
The initial enquiry should contain the following information:
- full title and subtitle of the publication;
- full names of all authors or editors;
- institutional affiliations, where applicable;
- publication category;
- language of the manuscript;
- estimated or final number of pages;
- publication year;
- ISBN, where already available;
- DOI, where already available;
- brief synopsis or abstract;
- table of contents;
- front cover and back cover;
- information concerning the copyright holder;
- preferred access model: open access, paid digital access, printed-book sale, subscription, or institutional distribution.
3. Required Publication Files
Following the initial consultation, the author may be requested to provide some or all of the following files:
- the complete manuscript in Microsoft Word or editable format;
- the final PDF intended for publication or controlled distribution;
- a preview PDF containing selected front matter and sample pages;
- front-cover and back-cover files in high resolution;
- copyright page and publishing information;
- ISBN evidence, where available;
- author biography and institutional affiliation;
- author photograph, where required;
- keywords and an academic synopsis;
- signed publication, deposit, distribution, or copyright documentation, where applicable.
The complete PDF does not necessarily have to be made openly available to the public. Argael Publisher Library may display only the bibliographic metadata, synopsis, table of contents, cover, citation information, and selected preview pages. Full access may be provided through purchase, subscription, institutional licensing, or direct request.
4. Editorial and Quality Assessment
Every publication proposed for inclusion will undergo an initial administrative and editorial assessment. The assessment may examine:
- the relevance and academic value of the work;
- the completeness and coherence of the manuscript;
- the clarity of the title, synopsis, and table of contents;
- language quality and readability;
- citation and reference consistency;
- originality and similarity concerns;
- authorship and institutional information;
- copyright ownership and third-party permissions;
- the accuracy of ISBN, DOI, and other publication metadata;
- the suitability of the publication for digital deposit, promotion, sale, or institutional distribution.
Inclusion in Argael Publisher Library is subject to editorial approval. The possession of an ISBN or DOI alone does not automatically guarantee acceptance.
5. Editorial and Publishing Assistance
Authors whose manuscripts are not yet publication-ready may request professional assistance from Argael Publisher. Available services may include:
- substantive and developmental editing;
- language and copy editing;
- academic restructuring;
- citation and reference checking;
- similarity screening;
- typesetting and book layout;
- cover design;
- copyright-page preparation;
- metadata preparation;
- ISBN consultation and application assistance;
- DOI consultation and registration for eligible publication objects;
- catalogue-page development;
- digital publication, promotion, and distribution planning.
The scope, cost, and completion time of each service will be determined after the manuscript has been assessed. Editorial and production services are separate from the decision to accept a work into the Argael Publisher Library catalogue.
6. ISBN and DOI
Authors may submit books that already possess an ISBN. Where an ISBN has not yet been obtained, Argael Publisher may provide consultation or assistance subject to applicable requirements and the completion of the relevant publishing documents.
A DOI may be registered for an eligible book, monograph, chapter, proceeding, report, or other digital publication object where the publication structure, metadata, registration arrangement, and publisher policy permit such registration.
ISBN and DOI perform different functions. An ISBN identifies a specific book edition or format, while a DOI functions as a persistent digital identifier for a registered publication object. Neither identifier should be treated as an automatic guarantee of inclusion in Google Scholar, Scopus, Web of Science, SINTA, or any other external indexing service.
7. Digital Deposit and Catalogue Page
Once accepted, the publication may receive a dedicated catalogue or landing page containing:
- publication title and subtitle;
- author or editor information;
- institutional affiliation;
- publication year and edition;
- publisher information;
- ISBN and DOI, where applicable;
- number of pages and language;
- academic synopsis;
- keywords;
- table of contents;
- recommended citation;
- cover image;
- preview file, where authorised;
- purchase, subscription, or access information.
The catalogue page is intended to improve bibliographic visibility, traceability, discoverability, and access. However, indexing by an external search engine or academic database remains subject to the independent technical and editorial policies of that service.
8. Publication Access and Sales Options
Authors may discuss one or more of the following access and distribution models with Argael Publisher:
- Open access: the complete publication is made freely available under an agreed licence.
- Paid PDF access: readers purchase access to the complete digital publication.
- Printed-book sales: printed copies are produced, stocked, printed on demand, or distributed under an agreed arrangement.
- Subscription access: readers or institutions obtain access to selected publications for a defined period.
- Institutional licensing: universities, libraries, schools, or organisations obtain access under a written agreement.
- Hybrid access: bibliographic information and preview pages are openly available, while the complete publication is subject to purchase or subscription.
9. Sales Revenue and Profit-Sharing Arrangement
Where a publication is offered for sale through Argael Publisher Library, the author and Argael Publisher will discuss the commercial arrangement before the work is listed for sale.
The distribution of revenue or profit margin will be stated in a separate written agreement. The applicable percentage may vary according to:
- the ownership of the original manuscript;
- whether the publication was independently produced or developed through Argael Publisher;
- editorial, design, layout, registration, and production costs;
- the digital or printed format of the publication;
- the selling price;
- the distribution channel;
- printing, delivery, payment-gateway, banking, platform, and administrative charges;
- applicable taxes, refunds, and promotional discounts;
- institutional or bulk-purchase arrangements;
- the responsibilities undertaken by each party.
No fixed profit-sharing percentage applies to every publication. The margin arrangement will be negotiated transparently and confirmed in writing before commercial distribution begins.
The written agreement should specify, at minimum:
- the retail or access price;
- the calculation basis for net revenue;
- the author’s share and the publisher’s share;
- the reporting period;
- the payment schedule;
- the minimum payment threshold, where applicable;
- the treatment of discounts, refunds, taxes, and distribution costs;
- the duration and termination of the agreement.
10. Copyright and Authorisation
Authors must confirm that they own or lawfully control the rights required to publish, deposit, display, distribute, or sell the submitted work.
Authors must obtain permission for copyrighted tables, photographs, illustrations, instruments, maps, extended quotations, and other third-party materials. Argael Publisher may request documentary evidence of such permission.
The copyright arrangement may take the form of:
- copyright retained by the author with a distribution licence granted to Argael Publisher;
- exclusive or non-exclusive publishing rights;
- institutional ownership or licensing;
- another written arrangement mutually agreed by the relevant parties.
The applicable model must be recorded in the publication or distribution agreement.
11. Author Responsibilities
Authors are responsible for ensuring that:
- the work is original and properly attributed;
- all authors have agreed to the submission and publication arrangement;
- names, affiliations, ISBNs, DOIs, and bibliographic data are accurate;
- the manuscript does not contain fabricated, falsified, defamatory, unlawful, or misleading material;
- confidential information has not been disclosed without authorisation;
- necessary permissions have been obtained;
- the work does not infringe the rights of another publisher, institution, author, or third party;
- all financial and contractual information provided to Argael Publisher is accurate.
12. Publications That May Be Rejected
Argael Publisher Library may reject or remove a publication that:
- contains plagiarism or serious copyright infringement;
- uses false authorship, affiliation, ISBN, DOI, or publishing information;
- does not satisfy minimum editorial or academic standards;
- contains unlawful, defamatory, discriminatory, or harmful material;
- has already been exclusively assigned to another publisher without permission;
- is primarily promotional and lacks substantive educational or intellectual value;
- cannot be supported by valid ownership or publication documentation;
- creates a material legal, ethical, or reputational risk.
